I'm Bi-Winning :D

Today I went to Pride :D It was the BEST thing EVER !!!!! Ok so I just had to let you know :P I might put a post about it tomorrow but for now this one will have to do as I have already written it !! :P

Ok so a few months ago while this pretty little blog lay dormant sky 1 ran a weekly competition were Glee fans could write a review of that weeks episode of glee and the best would be featured on Sky 1's website. I was lucky enough to be chosen and it only just occurred to me to share it with you peeps !!! Here's the link to the blog on Sky 1's website ----> http://sky1.sky.com/are-you-this-weeks-glee-blogger (Go down to episode 6 :P)

Now I wasn't given the chance to format the blog they put on their website so I've decide I will format it to my own taste here. So here we go new and improved layout coming in 5 ..... 4 ....... 3 ....... .. 2 ......... 1 ----------->

Its back - the annual Glee mash-up episode is here again and this year it comes back bigger and better than ever with songs by two of the biggest artists on the planet - the ever insane Lady Gaga and the always humble Adele.
Rumor has it !

The episode starts with a rousing rendition of “Hot For Teacher” by Californian rockers Van Halen performed by resident bad boy Noah Puckerman. In one of the best twists so far this season Noah is found falling for his ex-flame Rachel Berry’s biological mother Shelby Corcoran.

While things heat up between the New Directions and the Troubletones, Shelby and Mr. Schuester attempt to cool the tension by performing a mash-up of Lady Gaga’s hit single “You and I” and the 1982 duet by Eddie Rabbit and Crystal Gayle of the same name.
Sues attempts to destroy Burt go very wrong !!!

They declare this week's assignment is for both clubs is to create a mash-up and perform it in a mash off. This leads to a disastrous game of dodge ball and Racheal dropping out of the presidential race whilst in other news Sue and Burts campaigns lead to a very big problem for one of the Troubletones.

Would you expect any less drama from the ever turbulent McKinley High?

Why TV sucks now !!! :P

Okay so recently I've discovered that I don't really like new television particularly !!! Apart from the Big Bang Theory and Glee all the TV shows I watch started in the 90s !!!! :O Maybe its cause I'm a child of the 90s who had two older sisters who watched EVERYTHING GOOD but in my opinion the TV back then was soooooo much better !!!! :P

Usually I can't really watch old TV or movies or listen to old music but for some reason 90s TV is an exception. If I watched movies from the same period or listened to that times music I would more than likely be kinda bored but their TV was so frickin good !!!!!!!! >_< So here is a count down of the best TV shows that started in the 90s :

1.Will and Grace: Okay so Will and Grace...... Will and Grace .......... Where do I start ???? Will and Grace ran for 8 seasons between 1998 and 2006 and is the best gay based sitcom EVER !!!! I was four when Will and Grace started but thanks to my older sisters who where 14 and 16 when it started I grew up in the gay, metropolitan world of Will, Grace, Karen and Jack. The story is a simple story of Will and Grace who live together (Will is gay Grace is not :P) and their respective best friends Karen (Graces secretary) and Jack (who is camper then David Bowie riding a unicorn  !!!). Many would disagree with me but I think this has to be the best of the 90s sitcoms !!!!!!!! :)

2.Friends: The most epic and perhaps best know of the 90s sitcoms, this show is a legend not just in the world of TV but in all of culture. Over the 10 seasons between 1994 (the year I was born !!!! :O) and 2004 we witnessed 6 people grow, mature and live in such a way that was revolutionary. This show is stuck in so many heads to the point that last year when its reruns were cancelled by E4 I genuinely thought we were all going to cry (thank god for Comedy Central !!!!! :P). On the list this is the only show I can actually remember watching live. I remember crying watching the last episode in 2004 and the hype that surrounded it (every 5 seconds RTE reminded you to watch it for weeks before). I think this show perhaps became so huge because it showed us all what we really wanted. A world were you are accepted for you !!!!

3.Charmed: Charmed for those of you who do not know was a supernatural drama which ran from 1998 to 2006 (the same as Will and Grace !!!!) and was about 3 sisters (one of who was replaced in the first episode of season 4 with a new previously unknown half sister) and their lives as the charmed ones, super powerful witches who's mission in life was to protect the worlds mortals from demonic powers. Any Big Bang Theory fans will be very interested to know that Kaley Cuoco starred in the 8th season as Billie a witch in need of help to find her lost sister. I personally love the series because of the powerful women it portrays with Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Paige kicking ass and saving the world while they bring up children, run a night club and write for a news paper among many other things.
4.Sex and the City: Okay so this may be about 90s shows, which this is starting in 1998, but I actually only fell in love with this recently. Due to the ...... em ....... adult nature of this show I never actually watched it when it was on TV (it aired from the time I was 4 to the time I was 10) but started watching this year after buying the first movie. While Samantha, Charlotte, Carrie and Miranda are all complete opposites there friendships are some of the strongest in TV history !!!! Like most good TV shows Sex and the City's appeal comes mainly from its characters, these girls are so real you cant help but love them. They have sex, talk about sex, cheat on their boyfriends and even go through menopause all while being lovable and kind. They are the perfect TV storm.

So what have we learnt from all this ??? Well ...... nothing really accept that I have faaaar too much time on my hands but please go out and watch these shows !!!!!! They are orgasmicly amazing :D

The Gushings Of A Gleek: Volume 2

Ok so it was my birthday on monday :D And I got the best present EVER........Glee the complete season one. As I confessed many weeks ago, I am a huge Gleek :D So the day I got it i ended up watching about 10 hours of nothing but Glee........Twas fun but now I'm even more addicted than I used to be :P
So what am I writing about today ???? Basicaly I shall try to convince anyone who doesn't like Glee that they are as dumb as fuck and that their opinions don't count..........Joke............Kinda :/

So lets start with the music. Where else can you find music from Tina Turner, P!nk, Florence + The Machine, Lily Allen and Wicked ????? You can't :P Glee is one of a kind :D I mean I bet not one person out there won't find a Glee song they love. Its just so damn universal.

Ok, on to Characters, so I have to admit I don't love all the characters. While I LOVE Kurt, Mercedes, Santanna, Brittany, Sue, Tina, Emma and Becky I must confess to finding Finn, Quinn, Will, Artie and Racheal slightly annoying. Its because they are so damn stupid. Quinn walks around with the most boring expresion I have ever seen. She doesn't seem to give a shit. Will is so winey. He never shuts up and he really can be quite stupid. And poor Emma :( I think the main reason I don't like Finn is because he has the worst taste in music EVER (just my opinion :P). I'll stop there because its starting to sound like I hate Glee. I don't, I love it. I can just see its flaws :P So the positives. Kurt is the most insecure character who still seems to be immensley confident. Santanna is a bitch, and she knows it. Brittany is beyond stupid...... My favourite example ................

Burt to Britanny and Kurt: Use protection
Brittany to Kurt: Does he mean like a burgular alarm ???
OR
Will: Whats a Ballad
Brittany: A male duck

Acctualy there is ALOT of stupidity I could quote :P

So what next........ Oh yeah the story lines. I mean we have a kid in a wheelchair, a lesbian, a bisexual, 3 gays, a shy goth, a female wrestler, a guy with GIANT lips and of course the stereotypical blonde. So what does that all equal ???? A hell of alot of confusion, emotion and the best storylines. I mean I think all the Gleeks out there are just waiting for Brittany and Artie to break up so she can be with Santanna. My favourite episode is Season I episode 20, Theatricality, I mean it is basicaly an episode which takes Lady Gaga's message that being a freak is ok and turns it into a 40 minute emotional rolercoaster which comes to a head when the entire Glee club stands up to Dave Karofsky and Azimio.

So class your homework for tonight............. GO WATCH SOME GLEE :D

The blonde Devil's proposal :D

This is dedicated to Seosamh Mc Donald, not becuse of the subject but just because I said I would :D

So chick flicks, why does everyone always say they're "shallow" or "ditsy". I happen to LOVE them !!!!!!!!! Sometomes its quite hard to watch an overly serious movie and you NEED a chick flick. I mean some of them are pretty damn good :P

My favourite 3 are as follows:

1. The devil wears Prada: I LOVE this movie. Why???? ANNE HATHAWAY and MERYL STREEP. I mean I love both of them, they are two of the greatest actresses of their respective generations (In my opinion) and they made a bloody brilliant movie. I mean its a movie about fashion that is extremley emotional !!!!!!!!!!!! How often do one of those come along ???? (quiet often but shhhhh). And a quote from the movie....."its only drizzling"

2. The proposal: People told me this was shit but I love it :D I mean I've loved Sandra Bullock since Miss congeniality and I tought she was brilliant as a bitch :P But she's not just a bitch, she's a weak vunerable character with more troubles than solutions, and Bullock plays the over-confident and insecure character amazingly. Its not easy to have traits that are completley opposite in the one character.....and the quote "Its the morning"

3. Legaly Blonde: Unlike with the other two I don't LOVE the main actress. Resse is quite good but what I really love about it is the fact it does'nt live to stereotypes, infact it activley works against them. It shows that you do not have to be what society thinks you should be (which makes me happy because I'm really not). And it has perhaps the weirdest relationship of any movie I've ever seen, but thats a good thing :D .......so a quote...."Bend and snap"

First person who can tell me what is happening when the quotes are said I will dedicate my next blog to you :D

The eyes have it ........ Well the buttons do

Hey so this is my first review so be patient with me :P

...."Of course Toryn"
..........."Aw thanks voice in my head"
...."No problem dude" *Takes off on a jetpack*

So yeah, What do Dawn French, Teri HatcherDakota Fanning, Jennifer Saunders and Henry Selick have in common (and its not that they are all AMAZING) ..........Its a little movie called CORALINE !!!

Now as you may remember my first blog was all about the orgasm that is stop go animation, well here's another reason to love it. Henry Selick the amazing director behind The Nightmare Before Christmas (no Tim Burton did not direct it, he wrote it :P) has struck gold once more with this Jem stuck in a world of movies full of sex, action scenes, drugs and very little meaning.

Coraline Jones is a young girl with a big problem. Her life. Her parents are authors and have moved her out to the back arse of America (please don't hold her nationality against her, in the novel she was British) so they can have some peace (that really backfires on them) to write their Gardening catalouge (apperantley its a real thing).

Well this sounds dull you are thinking. Well all I have to say is fuck you !!! Coraline soon finds her self in BIG trouble when she accidentaly discovers the perfect world created by her "other mother", a doppelgänger of her mother with buttons insted of eyes. In this world her "other mother" can cook (Coralines real mother can't) her "other father" is  musicaly talented (her real father is not), her "other neighbours" are interesting (her real neighbours most certainly not) and her only ally is a sarcastic but loyal talking cat.

But things are not as they seem and after meeting the ghost children, loosing her parents and being trapped in a mirror Coraline soon discovers that when something seems to good to be true, it usualy is.

Now just because this is an animated movie DO NOT make the mistake of branding it as a "kids" movie, it is so much more, it is one big orgasm of emotion, amazing characters, comedy and at the heart of it all that feeling of not belonging we have all felt at one point.

So if this blog has taught us anything it's.......DON'T let them sow the buttons in (go watch it and you'll understand :P)

The Gushings of a Gleek

.."Hey you"
....... "Me??"
.."Yeah you, come here a sec"
......"What??"
.."You watch Glee don't you ??"
......"Me ??? Pfft, eh, wha, of course I don't I'm way to
.................................
......."Yeah, I do"

Glee, my guilty little pleasure, I mean who doesnt love it ??? I no your all sitting out there going "I don't, bloody hell like" but in acctual fact you do (unless your head is'nt screwed on quite right).

I mean who couldnt love the characters which range from the EXTREMLEY gay Kurt, to the ABSOLUTE bitch that is Quinn and the O.T.T diva Mercedes. But why do we love them. I mean they kind of sound like the high school musical characters (and I think I speak for everyone when I say that is an extremley bad thing). So why do we want to hug them insted of stab them ???? (I bags stabbing Zac). It because the are REAL. They are not perfect and do not fit into one set stereotype. Each one has the flaws and personality of a real person. They suprise us from time to time. Be it Quinn wanting Mercedes to be at the birth of her baby or Sue resigning as principal to protect Kurt from bullies, we can never predict whats gonna happen.

Now for thoose of you who are sports fans (not me). Imagine watching a match and the watching it the next tuesday night and the tuesday after, and after, and after, and after. Does it sound fun ???? Me thinks not. So thats why Glee is AMAZING.

..."Another reason Glee is amazing ??? Anyone????"
..........."oh, oh, oh, Its American"
... >:( "No, get out, NOW"
.......... :'(

The answer is the music. This is my personal favourite -> Rose's turn
But no matter what you like, you'll like something on Glee (unless your like into classical music done by heavy metal bands. Then just feck off).

Having said that I am kinda annoyed by the fact the music on Glee is staring to become a bit.......how do I  say it nicely....... a bit, main stream

:O

I no, I no its blasphemy !!!! But its true. In recent episodes they have started to try and seem........ young. They are really aiming for that 12-15 year old age group. And why????? So the have to stop being edgey, funny and a wee bit innapropriate. God, next they will be trying to convince us Kurt is'nt gay and Britany does'nt sleep around. Pftt, could you imagine ???

So please Glee.......... Don't change.... EVER

Don't stop the motion

You may or may not have guessed from the title but this blog is about stop motion animation. For you out there who have never heard of stop motion, shame on you, you uncultured swine !!! (pretentsious moment)

Stop go animation is as quoted from the all knowing wikipedia "an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own". So its moving puppets.

Now I take an interest in stop go animation because my favourite movie EVER, Tim Burton's classic "The Nightmare Before Christmas" was made using the technique. In my opinion there is just such beauty in an in-animate object being given a personality, a voice and a life. And it looks good too.

Unfortunatley for stop motion animation lovers out there they just are not made very often. This is due to that factor that is present in every part of society. MONEY. Stop motion is costly and time consuming. It can take hours to make seconds of acctual film. So it is with this sad fact we can expect to only get at the most one movie a year. But take solace in this one thing my friends. When they are made. They are BRILLIANT
